Rushing through this to finish it as quickly as possible. Underdeveloped characters, repetitive descriptions (please stop talking about her golden twists of hair and how her face colours with embarrassment/shame/anger), yawnsome plot. I enjoyed The Foundling, I expect by then the author may have found her footing more but this one feels very much like a shaky debut.
