So dumbass is used a lot... looked it up, first time it's been recorded as being used as a word is in the 1930s. This book takes place in 1863. 🙄🤔

I don't usually read fantasy, and not sure if this is the book to try in order to enjoy fantasy...Suspending my belief isn't my strong suit.
Why is she wearing a plague mask while weapon training in 1836 (or whatever year this takes place)? And I'm pretty sure no one was using the word 'dumbass' back then. **frustration** Many other questions come to mind.
