During this time Russia wasn’t really powerful, they had an economic crisis. They didn’t have a permanent navy. So it was hard for Russia to get overseas colonies in the new world. Well so far it’s been an introduction. Peter the great has numerous brothers and sisters. He become co-ruler of Russia with his brother Ivan V. He also known for being very tall (6 ft 8 in). Peter and Sophia were good military leaders, they made Russia a world power after defeating Sweden in The Northern War( 1700-1721). There's not much to say. It's only the beginning.
