Magdalene > Status Update

I already know exactly what my reading preferences are like. I love adult fantasy. But 50% of my FYP is filled with people who are super excited to explain some romantasy or YA fantasy books they like. Most of the time I end up dissapointed. Are the YA fantasy and romantasy books mostly mediocre, or am I just following the wrong recommendation sources?
