“Without him, it seemed colder. I retraced his touch lightly,
careful to avoid smudging the imprint of his lips against my skin. He
had called me jaani —“my life.”

uh, shouldn't that be "jaanu", or am I wrong?
Also, the romance is so… tasteless, if you will.

"“It is nice to be nice,” said Kamala with a sage nod. “And it is also
nice to eat people,” she added as an afterthought."

The only reason I'm still reading this is because of this awesome horse Kamala :D

Ash (inkwordsandash) yeah its jaanu

Thanks for clarifying that. I don't speak Hindi often so.
The author got it wrong somehow. Also, she got the word for demon wrong (raksha).

B yes should be jaanu or jaan!

Ash (inkwordsandash) @stardustreader/ she wrote raksha for demon? that's pretty ironic lol

Right? do your research right authors

StardustReader Ash (inkwordsandash) wrote: "@stardustreader/ she wrote raksha for demon? that's pretty ironic lol"

IKR LOL

B @stardustreader am not suprised at I'd seen similar inconsistencies in the gilded wolves trilogy!

B @ash @startdustreader calling a deamon raksha is actually a really funny blunder 👀

Ash (inkwordsandash) @b ikr lmao
it's also kinda disappointing bc the author is partly indian 😭 unless it's a publishing typo, in that case well-

That was a really hard series to get into for some reason. Also, I wonder if she made any similar errors in the Pandava pentalogy and I just brushed them off thinking they were editing mistakes

Right? maybe these Rakshasas, ahem, rakshas instead of causing mayhem in the different lokas, protect people just like the devas? :D (LOL I don't know why I'm imagining Thanos and Cronus being the good guys and protecting the world with the Avengers and the PJ gang).

yeah it's really disappointing. I mean this patal lokh concept had so much potential. Okay, I have to admit that the hades and Persephone retelling didn't sit well with me, but the concept of Patal Lokh is just so fascinating

B @stardustreader
honestly i loved the first 2 books of the gilded wolves but book 3 ruined it for me

I only read book 1 of aru shah but can't recall any errors, though entirely possible

B @ash
i doubt it's a publishing error this is so technical it should be corrected

@stardustreader
I don't think the author relaised how ironic it became 👀

Right?

message 16: by B (new) - added it

B honestly it's very disheartening to see such errors in books all the time
It's fine if author makes the error but it should be corrected in edits/sensitivity reads

StardustReader Yeah *sigh*
