Calla's struggles, her frustration, are so heartbreaking. 😭 and the way she feels/experiences her magic is so severe, so real, and intense. My heaarrtttttt

The writing is just impeccable. I'm still drawn in right away, even on a reread. There is basically no exposition: you're right there, in the world, with all its worldbuilding, and it just feels so natural.
