The Commentary on Galatians 1 is so interesting. St. John Chrysostom takes the words of Saint Paul written centuries before him and applies it to the Heresies of his day. Those who are tempted by Arius or who still keep Jewish Feasts and traditions out of superstitious tendencies are rebuked effortlessly.
Loved His point that the Introduction culminating in Amen is already a complete argument against the heretics.

"After miracles ye have passed to circumcision, after having apprehended the truth ye have fallen back to types, after gazing on the sun ye seek a candle, after having strong meat ye run for milk."
Imagine hearing this as part of a homily and calling people out on their sins. You had a greater good and you have settled for the imitation. Beautiful writing.

Chapter 2 has one of the most interesting interpretations of a Biblical text that I think I've yet encountered. Paul describes the events surrounding the Council of Jerusalem, and then a subsequent encounter with Peter at Antioch where he rebukes Peter and accuses him of hypocrisy. J Chrys. interprets this whole section as a setup, that Peter acted this way intentionally to give Paul an opening to cut down opposition
