ok new and final prediction until book ends: her husband did it, he found out she was cheating so when she was at that hotel he purposefully reported her missing then went before her boyfriend or whoever came and attacked her and the reason he didn’t allow for further treatments is because he didn’t want her to remember what rlly happened

“Ed,’ I whispered. ‘I imagined waking up with someone called Ed.’
Silence. A heartbeat that seemed to last for ever.
‘Christine,’ he said. ‘That’s my name. I’m Ed. Ed Nash.’
My mind raced for a moment. My first thought was that he had attacked me. ‘What?’ I said, panicking.”
NO WAY I READ THIS right after what I said in my last update 😭

i’m still clueless but here’s a very far reaching prediction: dr. Nash is the one who attacked her, which is why he told her that they agreed to not tell her husband because so far her husband hasn’t done anything sketchy or bad but dr. Nash seems too good to be true like what is this dude’s first name even (pretty sure they mentioned it and I just forgot but wtv)

i genuinely can’t tell if the husband and the doctor are good people or not and that’s the only thing driving me to read this slow ass book
