Even as someone who can 100% relate to feeling stupid and awkward around people, I can’t give Ryan a pass for being so incredibly self-centered and mean. It’s only the fact that Miller sees it for what it is, and loves that someone isn’t just blithely giving him what he wants, that is letting me enjoy the story. Still, I have to stop every few chapters because Ryan is a dick.

I feel like I am missing something here. Ryan is a complete asshole. He’s rude and defensive to everyone, no matter how nice they are to him. Even from his own perspective, hell, especially from his own perspective because he thinks even more unpleasant thoughts than he says out loud. Why am I supposed to want an HEA for him?
