I’m learning a lot and the descriptions of Napoleons war with Russia are often cripplingly beautiful.

Definitely the “Queen of Spades” is my favourite section so far though and the first section I have liked the least (maybe I just needed a moment to get used to Winterson’s writing style? Who knows).
