The book is regressing regarding its storyline. Idk if the publisher suddenly said they needed 3 books 3/4 when she was writing this and suddenly they needed to come up with more issues. Thr whole thing doesn’t make sense. Why in the hell is he wanting to sell her in the first place? I thought he wanted to get her to recant her story. How will she be a reliable witness to recant when she is a sex worker?

red flag is she literally just met Damien how long have they been together… And they are not allowing her to be with her daughter every time she goes to be with her Bambi is there that would be a red flag that they are trying to take her away from her child and when she asked for her, she’s gaslit to think she doesn’t want the best for her… Why is he demanding trust when she doesn’t even know him?

I feel like the closer to the end of book 1, the author is really trying to draw out the whole will They are won’t they storyline. getting frustrated and disappointed bc the book started out good and I feel like a lot of the character development is regressing to be honest with everything going on and Damien‘s treatment of her. It would’ve made sense for her just to go back to her ex(character wise)

Also my prediction she was going to be human trafficked by her dad but his brother saved her…. The dad realizing others knew then needed to make sure the brother went away so he couldn’t never tell anyone …

He carries this grudge like she wasnt a scared 8 old only slightly older than Willow. He thinks willow needs protecting but doesn’t realize her mom was around the same age that he is carrying a grudge around. I’m pissed at him for making her be his maid And then thinks it’s okay to just take her kid and do all types of “fun” things then throw it in her face she couldn’t protect her daughter.

Okay the storyline if really dragging on…. I mean Damion is holding this grudge against her when he knows she was physically abused by her dad then passed off to marry her current husband and doing the math had her daughter at 18. He keeps trying to make her feel like shit for staying with Martin but like she said him and her dad are cops where was she supposed to go?

OK, I am really enjoying this book. I like this authors story pacing. I like how it’s a combination of chemistry between the characters suspense, and intrigue a good overall interesting story. There are some books that I’ve read where it is just so emotional. I have to take a break, but it’s also not 2 dimensional. This book promised the baby so I’m wondering when that’s coming
