I have experienced the same situation many times over the years, but especially I seem to be unlucky because my 'puke worthy' books were always 500 pages long or even more. Leeanne, thanks, but I may push forward because now the story is starting to get very good, and I'm having a hard time putting it down. It is much like WOOM because it started off too disgusting for words, but soon evolved into a 5 star read. 😊

Daniel, thanks for the encouragement. I may have jumped the gun on this one. As the story moved on, it became, believe it or not, very compelling, much like Duncan Ralston's WOOM. If I had stopped reading Woom, I would've missed one of the best stories of the year for me. I'm more of a "things that go bump in the night" reader, lol. 😊

Leeanne, I guess what I'm not feeling about this book is the constant avalanche of yuck without a break. It's the same way I felt about Stokoe's HIGH LIFE... an onslaught of disgusting images without relief. It's getting more into a story now, so I may have misjudged it by reacting too early last night. 😊

I'm glad you feel you can continue Vicki, it's a gross read for sure but there is also a bit of a beautiful story in there too .... its something McCluskey does well!

Yes, 5 ft Reader, I'm beginning to see that. I definitely see light at the end of the tunnel because the story is evolving into a very good read at this point, and there is meaning to all the madness 😊 since this is book 2 of THE SPECIAL STUFF series, which I really liked, I wanted to finish this story, and I'm glad I stuck with it!
