I liked that the monsters had adapted to modern life, like the fear eaters running a cinema for horror movies and the banshees feeding off the sorrow at hospices. The characters were all interesting too, I liked them all and enjoyed the interactions and relationships between them. Dymitr was a badass! A fun quick read.

Very cool. I really love all three characters and think it’s cool how much depth they get given it’s such a short story. Dymitr is the best. I like that while he’s a badass night he’s also just a genuinely good person. His interactions with Ala and Niko are great, really hope they are in the next one because I’d like to see how those relationships develop. Great lore, great characters what’s not to love

Need to see how his deal with Baba Jaga pans out. I still really enjoyed this. The polish mythology is

I enjoyed this quite a bit. I think that maybe Veronica Roth should just write novellas from now on because it gave her enough time to set up a great fantasy setting but ended before she had a chance to ruin it by undoing all her world building like she usually does. I thought the Polish folklore and Slavic mythology was really cool, different to lots of other fantasy I’ve read.
