I can’t see myself finishing this one. It just doesn’t ring true in any way. I was interested in reading it because the main character loses his sister and the first chapter is about his parents’ grief. I’m a bereaved parent. But his parents’ reaction is monstrous and bizarre - they pretend he doesn’t exist and forget about him. Does Napolitano have an iota of empathy or even interest in bereavement?
