I'm halfway through and I think things are about to get a lot darker.

I admire the control of the pace and the slow build of tension here.

I like how down to earth this story is. The day-to-day details are reasuringly normal. The main character, although she has some scarring from being raised in a narcissitic family. is practical and independent. So, the small discrepencies and microaggressions a little more disturbing than they would have been.
The most gothis image so far was the graveyard yew trees growing through the graves, pinning the skeletons.
