Trying to re-read as much as I can before the sequel comes out. I’m realizing that despite adoring this book the first time I had no clue what was going on.

Finally made it to the games. My predictions: Emissa is going to betray Vis somehow probably to win. Since Eidhin said him participating in the games would make Vis not trust him I’m wondering if Aequa playing instead means she will get the chance to betray him again but I don’t think she would. Maybe that kills her. Someone’s gotta die my guess is: Aequa, Ulcisor, Eidhin, or Lanista.

This book is fantastic but I have a feeling this third part is going to be about his relationship with Emissa and I just can’t bring myself to care about her. I’m on a romance loosing streak.

It’s been a while since I read a book I don’t want to put down. It’s so intense and I’m only a 3rd of the way through.

I’ve never been a Roman Empire girl but I’m digging this books aesthetic. Also I’m loving Vis so far he’s very intelligent. Sadly it’s not every day I read a book with a compelling main character.
