Pool, Air Conditioning, Free HBO. Twin Peaks vibes, but way less quirky and more malevolent. But I liked this one.

Pictures of Huxley. A very melancholy one and ethereal, like the emotional residue of an unremembered dream.

My College Admission Essay. Babies crying are indeed very much annoying, but THAT much? No, thank you. Also, the dad's clown friends? Creepy.

Schoolgirls. Ultraviolence is not my kind of thing.

The Maid. Don't be rude to waiters, unless a waiter is really rude to you. I didn't really like this one much.

The Smell of Overripe Loquats. When there's a humanoid figure made of things figures usually aren't made of, you can expect trouble.
This one is a kind of Lord of the Flies and Children of the Corn crossover, but with excessive Catholic guilt. Nothing's ever free unless you earn it.

The Silence of Trees. I have suspicions that the protagonist here is the same one as in The Piano Player Has No Fingers: Phoenix, supernatural investigation, friends with Hispanic people.
Overall a decent one, with indigenous tribes in the northern Mexico involved. I would like more evil trees.

Jorgensens' Fence. American fears of European nations incorporated. Did you know there are no homeless people in Scandinavian countries because they make people in construction material (thank god, not furniture) over there? What fun.

Mona Retrospective, Los Angeles. Supposedly, a fun one ridiculing snobby nu-art enjoyers. It didn't sit well with me, though.

Black Friday. Black Friday is evil, but not in the way you'd expect it to be.

Apt Punishment. A surprise one 🫢

Also, The Man Who Watched Cartoons is dated 1999, and this one is 2016, so I wonder just what had been happening during these 17 years.
