I’m consistently thrown off by the British English words and phrases in this book because the main characters are from and in The States. Kerb instead of curb, pyjamas for pajamas, aircon instead of air conditioner, THE Ukraine instead of Ukraine etc. It’s almost like the 4th wall is broken and some suspension of disbelief is lost over and over.

Tyre instead of tire, but most egregiously, hola does NOT have an accent over the a. The mistakes are getting to me. These people are supposed to be Mexican and from LA.
