The main takeaway from this book so far is the varying methodologies behind interpreting abstract art. The most interesting method I found was Osbourne’s third view, where abstract art is a reflection of modern times in a growing capitalist world; the notion of alienation manifests in the fundamental forms that we see in this type of art, attempting to understand our deviation from the established aesthetic norms
