Rosa, really added a status update
Why in the name of fuck did I sign up for yoga? I DON'T WANNA GO.

I wanna stay home and think about how I should take a yoga class and then NOT DO IT. Fuck this proactive bullshit.

SELF-IMPROVEMENT IS A SUCKER'S GAME.

Meep Good Luck Sucker!

NOPE not going, never:

Rather anyone than me ;)

message 2: by Jyanx (new)

Jyanx Good luck. I've been before, but I'm not bendy at all. I'm like negative bendy. They have to special me versions of the poses, and it's sort of embarrassing.

Karen My hip aches just thinking about it :-( although I'll be some wine would help with that, right? Loosen up the muscles and joints...lol. It would at least make things entertaining.

message 4: by Rosa, really (new)

Rosa, really Thanks, guys. :D

I'm bendy, I just don't like people. I'm feeling a little panic attacky. It's in 4 hours, we'll see if I go. Gah!

I'm not a big people person either. It's too bad you didn't live closer you, Elspeth, and I could all guilt each other into action.

message 6: by Therese (new)

Therese Tried it myself, but felt to uncoordinated to really enjoy it;-).
I hope it goes better for you Rosa, have fun!

Or talk each into staying home and watching something on Netflix. Eat some brownies. Cuddle some dogs. :D

That sounds more likely.

Lisazj1 Everyone I know that does it loves it and I wish I could, but I have shit-tastic balance. The physical and mental benefits are enormous. But I get you. I'm not a fan of doing something new in front of a bunch of people I don't know. The good thing about yoga is that there really isn't a lot of talking during classes, so you can duck out quick after if you want. Good luck if you try and and if you don't, well then, Nexflix, brownies & puppy cuddles sound like win to me. ;)

message 11: by Vivian (new)

Vivian I don't like doing it with others, but I like it. Hope it works for you :)

message 12: by Daphne (new)

Daphne You need that Namaste in Bed t shirt. :)

message 13: by Rosa, really (new)

Rosa, really I want that shirt! :)

As ever thanks for the support, guys! I had to pop a pill but I went. I stayed. I did it. I left quickly & spoke to no one! Lol Then i rewarded myself with a Big Mac. Gonna have to take a bath with epsom salts later. My thighs! Oi.

I actually took a few classes 10 or more years ago & that helped. I think if I'd never done yoga I would've been lost. Or got up & left.

It's amazing how telling friends on the internet & by text that I was going to do this encouraged me to actually do. So thanks for commenting, people, it helped! ♡♡♡♡♡

message 14: by Emma Sea (new)

Emma Sea i'm super-impressed you went! well done!

we need secret vision glasses, like a Goodreads decoder ring, and with them on we can read each other's t-shirts emblazoned with, "Yes, I'm a weirdo too, come sit by me."

message 15: by Rosa, really (new)

Rosa, really Thanks, Emma! I dunno, sometimes I think anyone who spends this much time online obsessing over books (or fanfic) is clearly wearing such a shirt. :) Either way, a GR decoder ring and matching t-shirt would be cool.

message 16: by Karen (new)

Karen Kudos to you Rosa. I'm going to use you as my inspiration I'm suppose to find an exercise class to attend here in our tiny community for people with mobility issues because of my hip and I keep pretending I don't have time or I forgot. So now I'm just going to tell myself 'Rosa went to yoga, so what's your excuse?' and get on with it.

CONGRATULATIONS! You rock. And after years of sports, I love the smell of Ben Gay if the epsom salts aren't enough.

Alona You went!! That's brilliant. Well done you!
I'm so jealous, I'm that Pug you posted, I'm hopeless!

Well done on going to Yoda. I did Tai Chi eons ago and would love to go back to it but...tomorrow, tomorrow....;)

message 21: by Lisazj1 (new)

Lisazj1 Congrats Rosa, you did it! First time is the hardest. :) And I see nothing wrong with a Big Mac as dinner after.

And I want both of those t-shirts, though the weirdo one would be more appropriate for me, LOL!

message 22: by Maygirl7 (new)

Maygirl7 It's great that you went!

message 23: by Rosa, really (new)

Rosa, really Thanks, guys! To tell you truth I got my dad to drive me so I'd actually go. When we got there I said I'd either be back in 35 seconds or one hour. :P But I think it's gonna be good. I'm going to find some better fitting yoga clothes today, I think. The worst part was my boobs trying to escape from the top of my sports bra (though I don't think there's any stopping that) and that I was wearing my longest t shirt which is a v-neck so everything was on display AND that my pants kept slipping down and I could feel the air on my crack while doing downward dog. lol The only thing that kept me from complete embarrassment was that a) I'm sure the instructor has seen it all and b) everyone else was concentrating on their own stuff.

Also, I think the purple hair helps my social anxiety. Whenever I feel like someone's staring at me or looking at me like I'm behaving oddly I just think to myself "oh! They're staring at my superhero hair." And it's worth looking at. :)

Jennifer☠Pher☠ Good job Rosa! I wouldn't even know how to yoga.

message 25: by Rosa, really (new)

Rosa, really Thanks, buddy. :)
