The secret is out about Merion's little friend. Also, I didn't know that Lurker was black. Hmm. Oh, and the Rail Wraiths are for real, for real. Yikes!

Merion keeps making mistake, after mistake, after mistake. He is young and STUPID. I'm not sure I am going to be able to stay on this train, if he doesn't wise up...in the near future. Ugh. I feel for Lilain. She's got the patiece of Job (for sure).

Merion is such a whiney baby. He is so headstrong and stupid, at times. Yes, I know he's sixteen years old...and I can remember that (from my own life, and my children's lives...so it tracks), but it is frustrating to read...when you just want to slap them at the top of their head, and tell them to listen. Ugh.

Loving the worldbuilding, as the author allows our own understanding of England of the time, and the Wild West...to. The addition of the Fae/faires...and other creatures...is just perfectly scary for Merion (the protagonist). So atmospheric.

I have to say...that I still do NOT like Merion, but he's getting LESS annoying, that's for sure.
As he starts to become more focused on doing things, instead of EVERYTHING happening to him...he becomes more likeable.
Tell us more about Magik. Right?

As the chapters progress, we see the story getting more intricate (good news).
I feel for Marion. In a sense, I see him like Lord Greystoke from the Tarzan series...in that he's no longer living in the society that he was bred for. Will he rise to the occassion? Is this what his father wanted, to make a man out of him...so that he could protect his wealth and power? Hmmm?!

Got to Chapter 4 before midnight.
Alternate history story...with fantastical elements. The protagonist (at this current moment) is not likable (at least for me). I know his struggles will humanize him, but he's a git, atm.
