Former pro baseball player Rowdy was left beaten in an alley with his pitching arm destroyed. He is not sure he will ever rehab enough to play again. He has a chance meeting with a mousy gal at a yard sale and for some unknown reason is attracted to her. He thinks it's just he's off his game as this is not the type of woman he goes for.

Breeanne Carlyle LOVES baseball and writing. She has written a book about baseball roots in her small town of Stardust that sold 87 copies. Her editor is avoiding her. Then she stumbles on a odd old woman who sells her and old hope chest at a yard sale. She is drawn to the chest and has to have it. Only problem it is locked and she can't open it.
