I knew from the 2nd chapter that I wouldn't be a fan of this author. This book seems like it's written by a college student taking her first creative writing course. It's full of awkward dialogue, unnecessary and uninteresting detail, and zero depth. I care zero figs about any of the plastic characters (except maybe Miles, because he seems sort of clueless and easily taken advantage of).
