My first thought would be survival, which Cade would consider success in this never-ending battle. However, I believe that he wants more than that. That he wants to win. To win the war and be free of all the fighting. Cade has put everything on the line for this war and without victory, he has nothing.

I would show the scene I just read by having the three characters peek out from a wall that splits the stage. The characters have blasters and look extremely tired. They have different cuts and bruises as well as blood visible on different parts of their bodies. They are attempting to get past the robots on the other side of the wall who also have blasters and they are stuck in a standoff.

Our main character Cade finally uses his ultimate weapon that the whole galaxy is after, the Rokura. We knew that this weapon was powerful from what we were told in the beginning but now we see that the weapon is different than what is seems. While it is mighty, it has a will of its own. It hopes to shape Cade into a holder who will follow its will. We learn that the weapon is dark and should be used carefully.
