tbh sometimes it's so real it's painful to read, especially the constant doubt about which methods of resistance actually work.

I knew I was going to like it from the first chapter, but this is brilliant. First of all, magic that is created from the meanings lost in translation?! That concept is a language learner's dream!!! I love it. And the book has oddly Harry Potter-ish vibes—only if Harry realised that the magic he loves so much is the foundation of the very unjust societies and systems that made him into an underdog in the first place.
