This a great read aloud for those on a first grade level. It is a story about forming friendships and having self-control. Penelope, a Dino beginning school, initially struggles to gain friends because she eats them! Along the way, she learns to fight the urge to eat others after being eaten herself by a fish. She had a taste of her own medicine which warranted better understanding. In the end, she makes friends.
