Hat off to you Mark, for taking this one for us, I am looking forward to your review. I don't think I would be able to read this - if there is something that I find hard to encounter in books or film, because I do not manage to get it out of my mind, it is torture (some scenes in Waiting for the Barbarians or in A Man seem burnt into my memory, even if I read them decades ago).
