Ilse Hat off to you Mark, for taking this one for us, I am looking forward to your review. I don't think I would be able to read this - if there is something that I find hard to encounter in books or film, because I do not manage to get it out of my mind, it is torture (some scenes in Waiting for the Barbarians or in A Man seem burnt into my memory, even if I read them decades ago).

Thanks so much Ilse - this is certainly a grim piece of work, as you'd expect. The depravity of humankind is unbelievable really, isn't it? Now Ilse - I have added two Coetze books now because of your comments!!!!! What's going on?? Thank so much my friend :))
