I don’t usually read short fiction, but it it feels like she is repeatedly bowling strikes or performing variations on the same magic trick, and I am not complaining! The critiques on gender dynamics and “being” are thoughtful! The characters’ darker sides achieve whatever shade she strives to evoke whether it’s hostility, numbness, alienation, limpedness, scorn etc. Seamless sci-fi premises too! Read it!
