Am I enjoying this book? Yes
Am I also still stuck on the fact that it’s modern fantasy and that always takes a ding or two off and I just imagine how it could be if it wasn’t modern? Also yes

Respectfully I refuse to get over my dislike for modern fantasy, but I will still enjoy the book anyways if there’s enough there.
