Still waiting to get off the hold list.

I wish an editor had done a bit more with this. The story is still interesting, but some parts just go on longer than they have to be. At least we seem to be done with the obvious present day references.

Why is this book so long?!

Just over a quarter of the way through, and I think this could have been a shorter book. Still not very invested in the main character, who's getting attacked and in excruciating pain every few pages.

This book has four appendices. *Four.* I read part of the first in an attempt to better understand the [theoretical?] science of the chapter I just finished. I never took Physics so I was hoping for little, but the appendix is written based on events beginning in 2107. I'm giving myself credit for reading the first third of Apendix I.

Did someone took paying homage to authors, actors, and characters too far for my liking? I'll let you know if I get up to ten . . .

I probably should have checked the page count before starting this.
