Finished the preface. It was written by Irving himself so it's from one of his actual publications.

Now I can begin the preface, then the authors account on himself. By the time I actually get to a story I'll have read 20 pages. They're really framing Irving up but I'll be out of steam by then. If only I hadn't promised myself to read books in their entirety.
