Open ending and my theory was totally incorrect. There's so much about the Ramans I want to know and we only know the very beginning of why Rama is travelling. I agree with Norton that everything felt anticlimactic but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just means there is so much we can theorize about Rama's purpose and functions. 4/5 stars.

I think that Rama was went out by the Ramans as a last-ditch effort to save their species. Rama is supposed to replicate the evolution of the original Raman world so that whoever finds it can bring the Ramans back to existence. This theory is heavily informed by Star Trek 4 LOL.
