The archetype of Seraphina is overcoming the monster. Seraphina, her uncle, and her friends all work together to defeat the dragon Imlann and stop his quest to destroy Comonot's treaty, which guarantees peace between dragons and humans. The story builds tension up until the climax, when Orma and Eskar, two dragons, fight Imlann in the sky above Gorred to try to prevent humans from warring against dragons once again.
