I love 1800's prose, it's always like "My good reader, I witnessed a man accidentally trip a child and keep walking.... it disturbed me so much that I had nightmares about him all night and I started stalking him because I'm certain he's Satan himself..... he looks weird too, but I can't tell you why, you'll just have to take my word for it." And they're never wrong lmao
