I just wish they would stop, stop, STOP with the Lord Asriel shilling. In not a single of his character presentation, he has shown to have even half a fraction of his suppossed intelligence, charisma or capabilities. He acts and speaks like a run of the mill spoiled victorian nobleman.
When you read what he has done, its bullshit. Nothing makes any sense except that the plot says so and Its annoying.

I have finished over 3 books intead of continuing this one and I think that is an indigment alone. This is truly the worst book of the series.

I think that the reason this book goes downhill so fast, is tha we get the POV of both of Lyra's parents, and we realize that they really, really don't deserve all the hype that the rest of the world gives them. I'm still baffled how this pompous asshole got an entire multiversal army, or in what time. There are ways to write intelligent, charismatic characters and this ain't it chief

It has kind of a weak start. I'm not convinced by the new voice of Will and the angels are even more annoying than in the original book
