Apart from the grueling struggles he went through, ( notably the struggle of finding himself ), Knausgård has worked as a consultant on a new Norwegian translation of the Bible. Surprisingly, unlike his own stories, the Bible's chapters were already written, any attempt to add some rebel struggle being practically impossible - a fact which generated, as expected , a new struggle.

" I do not want anyone to get close to me, I do not want anyone to see me, and this is the way things have developed : no one gets close and no one sees me ".

Oh, bro, where art thou ?

The biggest struggle is confronting reality, in the end. We're not characters in a book, we are real. Once one perceived this, struggles are gone. Kind of Peter Pan vs Stockdale Paradox. A matter of balance, in a healing touch of silence.

Today I stopped by the Frog & British Library, located near to Bibliothèque François Mitterrand. At the entrance, on the door, an inviting announcement : " We ♡ Beer ".
Indeed, inside, the books were bottled up, emanating a deeply thoughtful miasma. Time to read, folks.

Dontcha you just hate it when you have just written a review, and at the moment of launching it on air you're summoned to log in, and your pitiful review goes to no man's land ? I don't know the elephants where they go, when they go, neither do the reviews.
I must commend you on your impeccable timing, truly, it takes a special kind of genius to interrupt a user at the precise moment of their creative zenith.

I remember that in my highschool years, I often used to make a lot of digressions in the comments on books, a habit that still haunts me nowadays. The teacher told me once - " Interesting, Théo, but next time, try to tell us something about the book.
" I'm afraid the author would be dissapointed, monsieur ", I said.
" The author is very dead, Théo, t'inquiète pas " .
" Authors never die, m-sieur."

Unlike Meursault, Knausgård knows exactly the day of his father death. But who was the stranger, in their relationship ?

Théo d'Or ....and so, Knausgård's struggle became a meta-struggle, a reflection on the nature of struggle itself. Maybe he found solace in the irony that his greatest battle was with a book that had been the source of so much solace for others, and in the end he realize that the true struggle was not with the text, but with his own need to impose his narrative upon it. After all, why not write your own gospel ? The Gospel According To Knausgård.
In the end, it was the text that had shaped him, and his struggle with the Bible taught him something essential - that the act of writing, of wrestling with words and ideas was itself a form of worship.
