Short, brisk and bloody chapters with fantastic dark humor, love it.:3

Once again a fantastically layered story full of symbolism and parallel arcs.
Both in plot and in actual subject matter highly tied to stage play and dramatic storytelling.
It moved too fast at certain places, but otherwise I really enjoyed Newman's writing once again. Very curious where Genevieve will go in the next novella.

It's 3 novella stories, I get that, and the pacing is otherwise wonderful. But I do feel that the mask-being transitioned way too fast from its first host to be within arms reach of its sinister goals.
Once again theater and stage actors play a large part in the story and I'm really enjoying the ramping up of the dark atmosphere and character beats.

Such wonderful, fun prose and subtle characterisation.
I had partly forgotten what a joy Newman is to read.
