Wow. Sometimes we forget thar all powerful, miracle wielding Jesus FAILED sometimes to heal or perform miracles... is this proof that God is not all powerful? No... instead we look at Jesus reaction. and actions, his grief and regret, his statements that there are demons and other forces at work. Jesus (and therefore God) is fighting a cosmic war... and in war there are casualties.... and Jesus wept

As I read this book, my mind goes to the Song of Aiunir at the beginning of the Silmarillion. Illuvatar's theme is beautiful and wonderful... but it is marred by the rebellion of Melkor. The themes of Melkor happen, not because Illuvatar planned them or allowed them, they are rebellion, civil war. But Illuvatar weaves them in, redeems them, and his purposes come forth still.
