While the results of the abduction is somewhat contrived and felt a little stretched, it does make for an interesting intrigue in how exactly the protagonists can resolve the issue within the restraints of polite society.

It's different. Whether it is believable is to be seen.

Some of the drama and capers are a bit contrived, but I concede the important ones are adequate enough to pass most muster. The dramatics can be reduced a notch though considering the main conflict at play.

Sheesh, 24 pages in and already a mutual kiss.

Honestly these first few pages confuse me. It's been like being dropped halfway through the story with no introductions, no establishing the setting and no build up, just straight to the flirtation.

Maybe later events will clarify this....

Last night I was hit by a realization that I was working through two contemporary thrillers at a time in my personal life when my brain isn't in a good headspace and I needed escapism.

I did briefly consider re-reading some historical romances, but decided a brand new and unknown story would be the most effective in fulfilling my needs at the moment.
