Religious or not, this chapter is a great lesson in that to make a relationship between men and women work (especially with women who know their worth) men need to resist patriarchal values and be willing to put actual effort into understanding their partner and her needs. Trust needs to be earned, not manipulated out of women and I'm glad Courtney exemplified this.

Whew this book really goes deep. It's both inspiring and insightful to read about Courtney's journey of healing and finding himself. I had to stop before Angela's chapter because hers always make me even more emotional and I'm not in the mood to cry right now
