I’m pausing to finish this til after I watch s2. I’m where s1 ends. I don’t want the book to contaminate the show. I think the show compliments the book well but a bit of extra drama was added in. I want to see where the show takes it first.
I feel like the show is a favorable adaptation. Again with a bit of added drama.

Gah!!! I want to talk to you so badly about this book series, but I respect your reasons for putting it on pause. I'm just really curious how they are going to approach the storytelling format of the second book in particular!!!

I’ll finish the book as soon as the series is over. I can understand some of the dramatic elements they added to the show but it does change some of the story. I’m very interested to see how far the 2nd season deviates from the 2nd half of the book.
