Who comes up with the nominees for the Goodreads Choice awards? Every year they are awful. And the fact that they have a separate Ronantasy category the last 2 years is just dumb.

As far as romantasy, it's still romance no matter the setting. If you take a bodice ripper and add a dragon, it's still a romance not some combination of the two.King is a pretty prolific writer. There's rarely a year when he's not a nominee and sometimes there's two.
As for the nominees, it's a popularity contest. Stephen King seems to win every time he puts out a book (as he has done this year).
