A Scottish lawyer visited New England from 1827-1830 with his wife and shared his impressions and observations of many aspects of life: food, norms between the classes and sexes vs. in the UK, prison system in New York, politics - especially the Jackson/Adams election, noteworthy interactions with all sorts of people and where they lodged.
