The author, Olivia Laing, follows early 20th century writers' wandering paths throughout the U.S., examining alcoholism and creative processes along her journey. Reading like a literary Pulitzer, it wisps the reader through countryside and elegant prose. It's hard for me to put down any book where travel is a backbone to untold truths and myths.
