Stayed up too late reading!

Finally some processing of grief, like a bench to sit and take a breather

Abuse is very difficult to read about, especially on-screen. I set this book aside for a while, hoping that it would magically get better, but no such luck. Thinking about whether to skip ahead but I don't think that's possible - it's a central part of the story and keeps happening across generations.
