This is much better than the "ABC Book of Socks". It gives illustrations so a beginner can follow along. It still doesn't go into the fundamentals of knitting socks, but I like how you can customize your sock for each foot.

Although the book is very informative, it is definitely not for the newcomer. I have never knitted a sock in my life, I do get the basic idea of the book. I probably will not finish the book.

I won't be really reading all of the patterns of socks. They are to advanced for me. I am really looking forward to reading "getting started knitting socks" the reviews are promising. All I have to do is figure out what size needles I need to buy. I see anywhere from size 1.5 to 5. It's going to be quite an outlay of $$$ so I better be sure what I need to buy.
