Ugh, disgusting. What they had to endure is simply nauseating. I think my issue right now is that as impacting as this knowledge is, it would be so much more impacting if it were written in first person and was Zamperini's actual account. Instead, it reads like an slightly more interesting textbook. Or Wikipedia page. Fact, fact, fact. This is what happened, this is what he thought, this is how she reacted...

I wish I didn't know so much about the movie already. I feel like I've been waiting for them to be POW for forever. I also was anticipating this to be told in first person, like a novel or an autobiography. Clearly, I was misguided. Dampers aside, it's really engaging now!

Getting there...

I'm not sure if it's the audiobook or the story itself but it's not engaging me very well.

The beginning was hard to follow on audiobook but I'm getting into the groove of it now.
