Okay, I get why Fitzgerald’s a renowned writer. Tarquin of Cheapside and “O Russet Witch!” had me highlighting and annotating while giggling and kicking my feet. I am in awe. The metaphors! The choice of words! The imagery!

Now that I’ve finished the fifth short story (The Diamond as Big as the Ritz), yk what hell yeah. Loved the twist. I started to enjoy it when I realized what Fitzgerald was trying to say in this story. The racism made me wanna puke tho.

Currently reading the fifth short story. The racism is off-putting but an important reminder of the reality in the US just a few generations ago. Also reminds me a lot of why people say “Eat the rich.”

I just finished the third short story. Shocking but understandable ending. I kinda liked it but also not, maybe 3.5 stars
