Wow cool to learn that simply end of life discussions and palliative care and hospice improves not only quality of life but also life expectancy (given a dying persons prognosis) as I’m on a project looking at readiness for these types of discussions. Cool stuff!

“The amount of freedom you have in your life is not the measure of the worth of your life. Just as safety is an empty and even self-defeating goal to live for, so ultimately is autonomy.” Such a thought provoking book on aging, dying and nursing homes so far. I find myself growing a lot of compassion for older adults.

Omg I don’t want to get old. But also yeah what is more important between quality of life and being physically healthy? Perhaps it’s not one or the other. The assisted living I think is a cool concept. Allowing older ppl to choose things even if it means choosing something unhealthy sometimes. Also yeah let’s get our primary care trained in geriatrics
