An a continuity issue. In this part Seth says that Madilyn didn't actually leave school because of a mental health issue but because she was pregnant. However, throughout the book so far it's not said that a mental health issue is what caused her to leave school but because she was "in the family way" or because she got married and had a baby right away. So this isn't a surprise but an continuity problem.

And another continuity issue. The whole does the kid know who her biodad is. Um, the kid did hear Cat say who it was and asked who he was. So why did Cat say to biodad that kid didn't know he was her biodad? He was out and out asking which is what the kid wanted. No aside that hint at Cat having lied to biodad on the kid's behalf.
